WHAT A TRUST COMPANY IS, (AND SHOULD DO) FOR ITS CLIENTS

A trust company is an organization dedicated to management and protection of the assets of individuals, businesses, and charities. The term "Trust" refers to the ability of the organization to act as a Trustee, being one who has the power to manage financial assets on behalf of another, or to assist another in the management of such assets. Oftentimes these arrangements are set up under formal procedures, (but valuable assistance can be provided to clients in less restrictive arrangements, depending on circumstances and events).

Usually, typical trustees manage investments, keep records, prepare court accountings, and pay expenses. Most often, these tasks are performed in a fiduciary context (i.e., where the trustee has the responsibility for another's affairs). However at Paragon, we believe that a Trust Company can or should provide other value-added and critical services, (such as tax preparation and compliance, estate management, managing audits and disputes with governmental agencies, business support and compliance, estate planning, trustee support and financial asset evaluation for clients in, and outside of structured arrangements. In this intention, we believe that many clients deserve a high degree of support in these matters that they may not receive elsewhere in other venues).
